SBS and AREC, IBA Karachi Faculty Engagement Activity at Arena Family Recreational & Sports Complex, Karsaz.

May 19 2023: The School of Business Studies (SBS) and AACSB Review and Execution Committee (AREC), Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, has arranged an event at Arena Family Recreational & Sports Complex, Karsaz for faculty and staff engagement activity.

The session commenced after a welcome refreshment, Dr. Sana Tauseef, Associate Professor and Chairperson Finance Department welcomed all the SBS and AREC faculty members and appreciated the staff for the wonderful event congregation. She further articulated the event itinerary and welcomed Dr. Abdullah Zafar Shaikh, Professor and Dean SBS to have a few words on School progress, Curriculum and Program revamps.

Dr. Shaikh addressed the policies, procedures, and framework of SBS decision making and other bodies with the declaration, "12 committees are working under SBS and Research Ethics Committee will be announced today". He further discussed the upcoming IBA SBS International Conference and the delightful response received from Pakistan and all over the world concerning research papers for the conference.

The upcoming SBS International Conference 2023 agenda was declared by Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA, who pushed the session and emphasized the importance of AACSB. He also mentioned some successful partnerships and collaborations among IBA and different organizations. The first half of the session came to an end after the distribution of the mementos to the last three years' best researchers and teachers of SBS, IBA.

Followed with the short tea break, Dr. Tauseef updated the faculty on the AACSB progress update, the IAC letter received on the first progress report, and the continuous improvement measures being taken to close all gaps and raise the bar at SBS. She emphasized faculty research and updated the changes in faculty classification criteria. And further reiterated the need for faculty support and collaborative efforts to achieve this coveted accreditation.

Ms. Kanza Sohail, Lecturer Management Department, focused on the Thought Leadership and SDGs Impact highlighting the projects aligned with SBS IBA and the mechanism to capture this impact. Ms. Tahira Maryam Jafferi, Lecturer Finance Department, discussed the faculty documentation of research on ERP and mentioned new fields to capture more details and the impact of research. In last, a hands on demonstration on ERP was given by Dr. Yasir Mansoor Kundi.

The lunch was served after a namaz break and the session ended with a recreational activity.
